Ang (Himalayan born), founder of AHA and most of the trips are guided by him. A NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) grad and WFR (Wilderness First Responder) certified. Its been over 20 years he is been guiding people from round the world in Nepal, Tibet and Indian Himalaya. He also trained in the Tetons, WY with Jenny Lake Rescue rangers at the Grand Teton National Park, US. Voluntered as a Climbing Ranger, SAR (Search and Rescue) at Mt. Rainier National Park, WA. US and Denali National Park (Mc Kinley) Alaska. The passion for the mountains, people and diverse culture made him leave his engineering career and take guiding as his profession. Apart from guiding Ang is also a part of the "Khumbu Climbing Center".
Satish a Kathmundiate has been leading trips in Nepal, India and Tibet over 20 years. He now spends half and half of his time living and guiding in Japan and Nepal and also led in Pakistan. Fluent in Japanese. He's got Cho Oyu, Amadablam and few other peaks under his belt. Satish just got a chance to go to Denali to volunteer as a SAR ranger at Denali National Park through the exchange program between Denali National Park and Khumbu Climbing Center.
Nimdoma Sherpa comes from Dolakha district of Nepal and has been guiding for AHA since 2012. She is also a part of Seven Summit Women team in Nepal. She is already climbed Everest (at the age of 17 making her the youngest female) She completed her Seven Summits early 2015. Their mission is to spread the importance of education, empowerment and environment. Apart form the seven summits she has climbed many mountains at home and also Mt. Rainier in the United States. Nimdoma also works as an LO (Liaison Officer) for big mountain expeditions. Her hobby is running and rock climbing. Nimdoma freelance guides for Angs Himalayan Adventures.
Mingma Ongel Sherpa or known as [MoS] comes from the village of Phortse. He is one of the lead guide for our climbing trip/high altitude trips. He's climbed and guided Everest 5 times out of 9 expeditions from both North and South side, Cho Oyu twice out of 4 expeditions, Amadablam 3 times and many climbs on Lobuche East, Mera, Island(Imjatse), Phapchermo, and almost to the summit of Cholatse. In 2006 during the fall expedition he gave his own O2 botle to his client who ran out of O2 on the descent from the summit of Everest and came down to South Col without O2. MoS is a NOLS grad. climbed in the Wind River Range in Wyoming, US and he loves climbing the Needles and Devils Tower in South Dakota and Wyoming when he is there in the States. Mingma is also a Khumbu Climbing Instructor. He's getting smarter by cutting down on the biggies but keeps his passion for climbing alive by climbing and guiding on the smaller ones.
Danuru Sherpa!! what can be said more about this man, hails from Phortse, Khumbu. During the spring season he is busy guiding Everest expeditions. He also guided for North Face and National Geographic Everest Expedition last spring 2012 and in fall when he is away from big mountains, Danuru leads our climbing clinic. He is a senior lead instructor for Khumbu Climbing Center. He has summited Everest 16 times, Cho Oyu 12 times, Amadablam 2 times, Manaslu once, Makalu up to 8000mts and many numerous trekking peaks which he lost count of. His gentle caring nature is his greatest asset. Can't stop talking of him highly enough. Don't you think you are in safe hands with this guy?
Mingma Tenzing young and strong also comes from the village of Phortse in the Khumbu region. He has guided people on top of Everest 9 times, Cho Oyu 7 times, Amadablam once, Manaslu once, Lobuche East, Mera Peak, Island Peak, Nirekha many more many times that he lost count of. He along with Danuru leads our climbing clinic in the fall season. Mingma is also an instructor for Khumbu Climbing Center.
Bishnu Gurung comes from Chitwan District of Nepal and is our leader and guide on our river trips. He is a WFR certified and also a WRT (White Water Technician). He is a certified Raft Guide by the IRF(International Rafting Federation). He has guided in the Indian Himalayan Rivers, Norway, Japan, Nepal and has done some first decent in Bhutan Rivers. He is fun loving and also training on his mountain skills.
Saroj comes from Makalu region of Nepal and is the main chef for AHA camping expeditions. With no formal education he started young as a kitchen helper carrying baskets on trips and now upgraded himself into a cook. Some of our clients have named him as Gordon Ramsey of the Himalayas... He makes some of the most awesome desserts in a basic pot over a kerosene burner..
Lakpa Lama graduated from St. Paul’s Darjeeling. One of the renowned schools in India built by the British. He did his advance mountaineering course from the famous Himalayan Mountaineering Institute started by one of the first man to climb Everest, Tenzing Norgay 1986. Has been leading trekking trips since 2001 in Nepal, Tibet and India. Lakpa also looks after the operations.
